After 56 years downtown in the Gateway City, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is selling its iconic headquarters.
At 900 N. Tucker Blvd., the building originally was built in 1930 by the St. Louis Globe-Democrat to house newspaper presses, distribution equipment and offices.
Post-Dispatch Publisher Ray Farris said the move was necessitated by the changing media landscape.
“We are a 21st-century media company operating in a mid 20th-century building,” Farris said in a statement.
Owned by Lee Enterprises, the St. Louis Business Journal reports the property has an appraised value of $4.1 million, according to St. Louis property records.
Farris indicated the daily newspaper company would like to remain downtown.
