Popeyes sales grow as sister chains struggle

While sales at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen are growing, revenue at its sister chains owned by Restaurant Brands International are declining.

In the latest quarter, Popeyes' U.S. same-store sales rose 19.7%. Burger King's U.S. same-store sales fell 3.2%, and at Tim Hortons in Canada, same-store sales were down 13.7%. Outside of Canada, Tim Hortons' same-store sales dipped 3.6%.

Popeyes' introduction of its chicken sandwich menu option is a key component in its sales growth, according to Restaurant Business.
