Pope Francis dies at 88

Pope Francis, born in Argentina as Jorge Mario Bergoglio and named pope in 2013, has died. He was 88.

While his cause of death has not been disclosed, Francis recently spent time in the hospital for a respiratory issue that developed into double pneumonia.

Eligible cardinals will vote for a papal successor in the Sistine Chapel following a series of rites and rituals.
