Poll: Trump could easily win Mo. GOP convention delegates

Posted online
Billionaire and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump would likely sweep 49 of the state’s 52 GOP convention delegates if Missouri’s presidential primary were held tomorrow.

That’s because a survey for private news service Missouri Scout conducted by Remington Research shows Trump ahead of his conservative competitors among likely Missouri Republican primary voters. Trump leads the poll with 33 percent of the would-be voters, followed by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz at 23 percent.

According to The Kansas City Star, should no primary candidate receive 50 percent of the vote, the state’s Republican convention votes are allocated by congressional district, and the survey finds Trump leads in every Missouri congressional district.

If survey results were to hold true, Trump would win all 49 available delegates – nine from the statewide winner plus five delegates for each of the eight congressional districts in the state – while three so-called super-delegates would officially remain uncommitted.
