Police raid Volkswagen's main French office

Police have raided Volkswagen's main office in France in connection with the probe into the company’s rigging of emissions tests, a company spokeswoman said Sunday.

Taking place Friday, the raids occurred at the German carmaker's French headquarters in Villers-Cotterets and a second office near Paris.

Similar searches in Italy and Germany indicate the company's emissions-cheating scandal is spreading across Europe.
