Niantic Labs is following up on its successful “Pokemon Go” augmented reality game for smartphones with a “Harry Potter” game.
“Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” is being co-developed by Warner Bros. Interactive and its new sub brand Portkey Games. It’s scheduled to launch in 2018.
Augmented reality games super-impose computer-generated images on real-world visuals. For example, with “Pokemon Go,” users point their camera at various locations and animated creatures reveal themselves.
