The Springfield Cardinals made their 2008 on-field debut with a two-game exhibition series March 28–29 against their parent club, the St. Louis Cardinals, at Hammons Field. More than 9,500 fans attended each of the two games; St. Louis won the Friday contest 3-2, while Springfield took the Saturday game by a score of 10-3.
