Planters killed off its Mr. Peanut character in a pre-Super Bowl advertisement.
Mr. Peanut sacrifices himself in the ad to save Wesley Snipes and Matt Walsh after a car accident.
“It’s with heavy hearts that we confirm Mr. Peanut has passed away at 104 years old,” said Samantha Hess, Planters brand manager at Kraft Heinz, in a statement. “He will be remembered as the legume who always brought people together for nutty adventures and a good time."
Mr. Peanut's funeral is scheduled to appear in ad form during the Super Bowl.
