City Utilities officials took Springfield City Council members on a tour of the ongoing $697 million expansion to the Southwest Power Station on July 8. At right, CU Associate General Manager of Electric Supply Scott Miller, center, points out progress on the plant’s foundation work. Miller said three projects are ongoing at the facility: construction of concrete piers to support the foundation, work on the foundation itself, and continued work on the chimney.
