To avoid protests and delays, Planned Parenthood built a new family planning and abortion care facility near St. Louis in secret, officials say.
Located in Fairview Heights, Illinois, across the Missouri border from St. Louis, the facility is designed to increase access to abortion services and the morning after pill.
Planned Parenthood continues to fight to keep its license at its St. Louis clinic, the only facility in Missouri that performs abortions. The clinic's future has been in question after Missouri passed strict abortion laws.
