The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce held ribbon cuttings at several area businesses.
At top, Rebecca Waisner and her husband, State Farm Insurance Agent Dan Waisner, opened his office, 717 W. Battlefield Road, Dec. 28. Waisner succeeds 30-year agent Mort Shurtz, who retired Nov. 1.

At middle, Heather Robbins, owner of Girlfriends & Giggles, unveiled her store at 2030 S. Stewart Ave., Ste. 108-112, on Dec. 11. The business offers theme parties for young girls, ranging from ballerina to fashion diva to rock star, complete with makeup, jewelry and gift items.
At bottom, Andrew Covington, left, and his father, Robert Covington, far right, opened Ashley Furniture HomeStore on Jan. 2 at 1715 E. Independence Road.
The Covingtons’ 45,000-square-foot store offers furniture, bedding and home accents.
