Pizza Hut is moving to close as many as 500 dine-in restaurants in the United States.
“This will ultimately strengthen the Pizza Hut business in the U.S. and set it up for a faster long-term growth," President and Chief Operating Officer David Gibbs said, pointing to a switch in focus to delivery and carry-out restaurants.
He said 6,100 U.S. Pizza Hut locations are traditional restaurants and 1,350 are express units.
