Pittsburgh company to acquire STL-area railroad crosstie maker

Pittsburgh-based Koppers Holdings Inc. penned a deal to buy railroad crosstie manufacturer Gross & Janes Co.

Kirkwood-based Gross & Janes reportedly is the largest independent supplier of untreated railroad crossties in North America.

The deal is expected to close within 30 days.
