Project description: A new Pipkin Middle School is in the works just a few blocks north of the existing 1920s-era facility near the center of Springfield. A larger site allows for a practice track and field on the premises. The building is being designed for 550 students, with space to expand and build upon existing education and extracurricular programming while allowing for new programs that couldn’t previously be accommodated, according to Springfield Public Schools officials.
