Pinpoint Media Group co-owner dies

Posted online
Mike Freeman, co-owner of Springfield-based Pinpoint Media Group LLC, died Oct. 8. He was 62.

Freeman, who co-owned the reputation management and advertising agency with his son Matt, died suddenly in his Springfield home due to an acute health issue, Matt Freeman said via email.

The younger Freeman, who had served as vice president of the firm, said he would take on full ownership of the company.

“As I move forward with the company, no other decisions have been made at this time,” he said, noting he would be seeking a few sales hires in the near future.

Mike Freeman worked in the advertising industry for more than 40 years. Prior to founding Pinpoint in 2012, he served as an account executive at KY3 Inc. for over 23 years and as a regional sales manager for KOLR-10 for six and a half years prior, according to his LinkedIn page.

In 2008, he won the AAF of the Ozarks’ Homer Tindle Award, recognizing strong sales values. He also was proficient in using the Rentrak, Nielsen and Arbitron rating services to help clients place advertising, according to PinpointMediaGroup.com.

In addition to his son, Freeman is survived by his wife Debbie, his daughter Michelle and mother in-law Sue Wadlow, according to his obituary posted at GormanScharpf.com.

A memorial service was held Oct. 13.
