Pickles and Buns food truck to close

Posted online

Two-year-old food truck Pickles and Buns LLC is closing.

The venture founded and owned by food industry veteran Jessica Oliva announced the decision on Facebook this morning.

"We are closing to start a new venture," the post reads. "We are moving out of state for this new chapter and will miss you all deeply."

Oliva said via Facebook Messenger that she's relocating to south Florida, where she plans to open a brunch restaurant.

"I was going to open it here but unfortunately was not able to find the right location and decided to move south," she said. "We are really sad to leave after having such an amazing experience and success with Pickles and Buns here."

Oliva said more details on her plans in south Florida would be shared on the Pickles and Buns Facebook page in the near future. The Facebook post indicates Pickles and Buns has a “couple of events this month” before the closure becomes official.

Pickles and Buns specializes in sliders with options such as beef, chicken and spam, as well as loaded sides. The restaurant, which serves food at venues including Hold Fast Brewing downtown, got its start in April 2021, according to past reporting.

Oliva previously was a co-owner in Tinga Tacos, according to her LinkedIn profile, and has past managerial experience with San Francisco Oven and McAlister’s Deli.
