Philanthropic Overland Park artist dies at 27

Philanthropic Overland Park, Kansas, artist Jeff Hanson died Sunday from a brain tumor. He was 27.

A visually impaired artist, Hanson had a goal of raising $10 million for nonprofits by the time he was 30. He was able to raise $6 million.

Elton John, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Susan Sarandon are among those who purchased his art, which involved large-scale acrylics with a focus on bright colors and strong textures.
