Can music change the way beer tastes? Dock Street Brewery in West Philadelphia thinks it just might.
The company’s golden saison currently is being aged around the clock with the music of the Wu-Tang Clan, the New York City based hip-hop group popular in the 1990s, streaming from Spotify.
Pop culture site Uproxx reports the beer, appropriately being called “Ain’t Nuthin’ to Funk With,” will be ready sometime later this year and have a spicy pineapple and orange-tart flavor. The company says the brew started as a joke, but then “wondered if the bass would cause enough vibrations to move the yeast around” to create different flavors during fermentation.
The company is no stranger to strange beer. For the season four finale of popular zombie show “The Walking Dead,” the Philly brew house crafted the Dock Street Walker, an American pale stout brewed with goat brains.
