PharMerica shareholders approve $1.4B acquisition

Louisville, Kentucky-based PharMerica Corp. voted unanimously to approve the company’s $1.4 billion buyout by KKR & Co. LP and Walgreens Boots Alliance.

PharMerica officials announced over 99 percent of the votes cast were in favor of the transaction.

Through the deal, PharMerica would be purchased by a new company controlled by New York City private equity firm KKR. Walgreens would be a minority investor.
