P&G's chocolate toothpaste: Innovation or desperation?

Whether you attribute its development to a bold R&D department or blame it on slumping sales revenue, you’re probably going to be curious about what chocolate toothpaste tastes like.
 
According to a report in Bloomberg Businessweek, Proctor & Gamble announced it’s developed some new flavors of Crest toothpaste, described as “deliciousness for toothbrushes everywhere.” The “deliciousness” will be available as Mint Chocolate Trek, Lime Spearmint Zest and Vanilla Mint Spark.
 
The consumers-goods monolith has seen its profits fall by more than 6 percent in the past year and analysts see the new toothpaste flavors as an attempt to capture new consumers. A release date has not been announced.
