PG&E Corp. and its Pacific Gas & Electric Co. utility filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
In the filing, PG&E listed $51.7 billion in debt and $71.4 billion in assets.
Brought on by last year's deadly California wildfires, the filing is one of the largest utility bankruptcies in history.
