Pfizer to buy Medivation for $14B

Pfizer Inc. penned a deal to purchase biotech company Medivation Inc. for $14 billion.

The $81.50 per share acquisition would give Pfizer access to Xtandi, a drug used to treat prostate cancer.

The deal is expected to close in the third or fourth quarter this year.
