Pfizer to buy Allergan in world's largest ever health care deal

Pfizer announced today it would buy Allergan for $363.63 a share, or about $160 billion, in the biggest deal ever in the health sector.

As part of the deal, New York-based Pfizer would move to Ireland to cut its U.S. tax burden.

The purchase price represents a 30 percent premium based on the companies' unaffected shares priced as of Oct. 28.
