Peterbilt of Springfield Inc., a subsidiary of the Larson Group, on Aug. 5 presented two diesel tractors worth $59,000 to Ozark Technical Community College's fundraising arm, the OTC Foundation.
The tractors will aid the college's Transport Training Institute, according to an OTC news release. The institute provides training for professional drivers.
Glenn Larson, owner of Peterbilt of Springfield, also pledged $100,000 to endow the Larson Family Scholarship, a general student financial aid fund, the release said.
OTC President Hal Higdon said OTC is grateful for the gifts.
"The trucks will provide valuable hands-on opportunities for the students of the Transport Training Institute, and the endowed scholarship will help countless students for years to come to pay for their education," he said in the release.
The OTC Foundation is currently in its 15th year of operation and is in the midst of its first major gifts capital campaign, which has raised approximately $8.9 million for the school, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
