Project description: Springfield Public Schools’ new Pershing Middle School is being built in two phases. Phase 1, set for completion in December 2027, features a 142,000-square-foot facility with modern classrooms, a cafeteria, a 900-seat gym, an outdoor classroom and a storm shelter that will also provide high-quality acoustics for music programs. Phase 2, with expected completion in July 2028, will transform the remainder of the site as the existing building is removed to make way for expansive outdoor athletic facilities, including a six-lane track and football field.
