PepsiCo Inc.(NYSE:PEP) reported net income of $1.91 billion, or $1.23 per share, in the third quarter, up less than 1 percent from $1.90 billion, or $1.21 per share, a year earlier.
According to a Reuters report, the company has been under pressure to buy Oreo cookie maker Mondelez International and split off its soft-drink business.
Revenue rose to $16.9 billion.
