PepsiCo officials say the company offered a settlement to Indian farmers it sued.
The suit alleges four Indian farmers are growing the patented potato variety used in its Lays chips without Pepsico's permission.
The company offered to drop the lawsuit if the farmers join its collaborative potato farming program or agree to grow a different potato variety. An attorney for the farmers said they're considering the offer.
