Peoples Bank of the Ozarks' new Springfield location is open for business, and grand opening festivities are on the docket for Friday.

The 3,400-square-foot branch, which cost $600,000, opened June 10 at 2911 E. Sunshine St. at the former site of a Pizza Hut restaurant. The branch is full-service and has an automated teller machine.

The lobby is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, and the drive-through is open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday.

Erica Kimm is branch operations manager, and Gary Lewis is senior vice president of lending at the East Sunshine location.

The public is invited to the new bank's grand opening event 3-7 p.m. Friday. The event is catered by Pappy's BBQ, and KGBX 105.9 FM will broadcast live on location.

This is Peoples Bank's 11th location. The bank recently consolidated its Forsyth operations by closing the 10659 E. State Highway 76 branch April 30 and combining it with the 15775 U.S. Highway 160 location, according to Assistant Vice President of Marketing Robin Rees.
