Gene Barnes has joined Great Southern Bank as vice president of residential lending. Barnes has more than 20 years of mortgage banking experience. In his new position, he will manage the residential lending department at the bank's 1451 E. Battlefield location.
Lin Thomason has been appointed vice president of corporate services at Great Southern Bank. Thomason has more than 20 years of banking experience. He will be responsible for the business development of commercial deposits and treasury services support in his new post.
Four former interns have returned to the Springfield office of Baird, Kurtz & Dobson as staff accountants: Rema R. Houston, Kelly J. Marshall, Walter W. McDowell Jr. and Deborah G. McGilvry. They will assist with general tax, audit and accounting engagements. All four graduated from SMSU in 1997 with bachelor's degrees in accounting. McGilvry was honored as a summa cum laude graduate.
Scott Hickman, CPA, has joined the Springfield office of Baird, Kurtz & Dobson as a senior consultant with BKD's management consulting services team. Hickman provides mid-range systems consulting and software implementation support for a variety of industries. He has three years' experience as a treasurer/controller and four years in management consulting.
Five new staff accountants have joined the Springfield office of Baird, Kurtz & Dobson, where they will assist with general auditing, tax and accounting engagements:
Roxi R. Kingsriter is a 1997 summa cum laude graduate of Evangel College with a bachelor's degree in accounting and business management.
Marcia R. Bunten is a 1997 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a master's degree in accounting.
J. Chris Barnett is a 1997 cum laude graduate of SMSU with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Justin L. Jacobi is a 1997 cum laude graduate of SMSU with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Cecil E. Weddle will graduate in May from College of the Ozarks with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Kimberly J. Gunther, personal banking representative at Village Bank, has been promoted to secretary of the board, where she will assume additional responsibilities in the lending area. Gunther has more than 10 years of banking experience.
Shawn A. Street has been elected assistant vice president of Village Bank. He will work in the lending area. Street received his undergraduate degree from Drury and has five years of banking experience.
