Mary Lilly Smith has been appointed economic development coordinator of the city of Springfield. Smith is a 16-year employee of the city's Planning and Development Department and has served as acting economic development coordinator since March. She has served the city in a variety of positions, including principal planner with the Neighborhood Conservation Office and senior planner.
