Southwest Baptist University has named Steve Whisler director of gift planning. Whisler has served as director of alumni relations since March 1993. As director of gift planning, he will be responsible for planned giving, scholarship and foundation/corporation development. Prior to serving as alumni director, Whisler was instructor of music from 1976-81 at SBU. He was director of planned giving from 1989-93 before assuming the title of alumni director. Whisler earned a bachelor's degree in 1971 from SBU.

BluCurrent Credit Union held a June 21 grand opening at an office building it renovated at 4520 S. National Ave.; Ozark Mountain Gymnastics changed ownership; and a Branson theater property made way for a new entertainment business with the opening of Star Concert Hall.
