Joel Mooney has joined Springfield Public Schools as director of facilities maintenance and repair. He has been vice president of administrative services at Mercantile Bank for the past three years. He also brings more than five years of experience in managing school district building construction and repair, and a total of 12 years in related fields of education. He holds a master's degree in education administration from SMSU.

John LaNear has been appointed director of Webster University's Ozark Regional Campus. He began teaching at the university's home campus in St. Louis while working as an assistant attorney general. He graduated from SMSU in 1991 and from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1994.
