Jacob Petefish has been promoted to senior art director for Perkin-Watts Advertising & Marketing Agency. He studied graphic arts at SMSU and has 17 years' experience in the field. Petefish has been an art director with Perkin-Watts for 2 1/2 years. He has background in the areas of photography direction, layout and design in all areas of promotion, including package design, ads and catalog design. As senior art director, Petefish will be principally in charge of design product for the agency.

Kelly J. Baumberger has been named a senior consultant at the Springfield office of Baird, Kurtz & Dobson, CPAs. She will provide technology consulting for financial institutions, including the review of existing hardware and software, and the development of technology plans to meet bank objectives. Baumberger is a member of the firm's team of financial institutions technology consultants. She earned her accounting degree at SMSU, and she has more than 10 years' experience in consulting for financial institutions.

A. Kay Burk has been promoted to trust officer for Commerce Bank's Investment Management Group. Burk has 25 years of experience in financial services and investment with Commerce Bank, including four years in trust administration. She has completed Trust I of Cannon Trust School. In her new position, Burk is responsible for customer service and administration related to personal trust services.

Andrew A. Marmouget and Mark A. Nance, of Davis, Lynn & Moots PC, have been promoted from staff accountants to senior accountants. Marmouget is a 1996 graduate of SMSU with a degree in accounting. Nance is a 1994 graduate of SMSU with a master's degree in accountancy. Prior to joining Davis, Lynn & Moots, Nance worked with the Missouri State Auditor's Office. Marmouget and Nance serve in the firm's audit department, providing audits primarily to governmental and non-profit clients. Marmouget also serves in the firm's long-term care consulting department, which prepares Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for nursing facilities.

Gregory Ostergren, president and CEO of American National Property and Casualty Company, has been named to the board of directors of Guaranty Federal Savings Bank. He is an associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, and a member of both the American Academy of Actuaries and the International Actuarial Association. Ostergren serves as an advisor to the SMSU mathematics department and as chairman of the advisory board of SMSU's College of Natural and Applied Sciences. He is a board member of the Springfield Public Schools Foundation.

L. Jetton Torix has joined Baird, Kurtz & Dobson, CPAs, as a consultant with the firm's health care group. Torix is a certified coding specialist through the American Health Information Management Association. She specializes in medical coding of CPT and ICD-9-CM, reimbursement consulting, medical records documentation reviews, quality assurance, fee schedule reviews, fraud and abuse issues and training of medical professionals. Torix has nine years of experience working with medical offices and clinics. Her duties with BKD will be to provide medical reimbursement consulting services for physician clinics and hospitals.

William Turner has been appointed by Gov. Mel Carnahan and confirmed by the Missouri Senate to serve on the Missouri Development Finance Board. Turner is the CEO and chairman of the board of Great Southern Bancorp Inc.

Dr. Dennis Edwards has been named acting dean of students at the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. Edwards received his MSW from Jane Addams Graduate School of Social Work. He earned a second master's in recreation and play therapy, and his PhD from the University of Illinois-Champaign, Urbana campus. He has been a licensed social worker in New Mexico and Illinois. Edwards has held several academic and professional positions, including developer of children's residential services for the Burrell Center and nursing home consultant, family therapist, therapist trainer and social worker for the Cox Senior Evaluation Program.

Todd C. Brierly has joined Empire Insurance Agency as an account executive in the commercial lines department, which offers all lines of business and personal insurance, including bonds. Brierly has 11 years' experience in the banking and insurance industry.

Barbara Murphy Janes has joined Empire Insurance Agency as an account executive in the health and life department. She has 14 years of experience in the health insurance industry and has received group health certification from the Health Insurance Association of America. As an account executive, Janes is responsible for the agency's health and life sales for groups and individuals, including long-term benefits and Medicare supplemental coverage for senior citizens.

Mary Priorello has been promoted to manager at Rapid Robert's No. 102 in Republic. She has been employed with Rapid Robert's for 3 1/2 years.

Geri Deering has been promoted to manager at Rapid Robert's No. 106 in Shell Knob.

Randy Murdaugh has been named manager of business services for Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. He holds a master's degree in business administration and has been with the cooperative for 17 years. Prior to his new position, Murdaugh served as coordinator of financial information systems for the cooperative. He will be in charge of central purchasing, inventory control for the cooperative's power plants and asset recovery.
