Evangel University recently made several promotions in its faculty:
Jimmy Ames, EdD, has been promoted to professor of education at Evangel University. An Evangel faculty member since 1992, Ames has a bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and a master's degree and doctorate from Oklahoma State University.
Pansy Collins, PhD, has been promoted to professor of English at Evangel University. She has been a faculty member since 1974 and has a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, a master's degree from SMSU and her doctorate from the University of Missouri.
Frederick Drake, PhD, has been promoted to associate professor of education at Evangel University. He has been a faculty member since 1998 and has a bachelor's degree from Drury College, and a master's degree and doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Elizabeth Fletcher has been promoted to associate professor of business and economics at Evangel University. She has been an Evangel faculty member since 1986 and has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Evangel, a master's of business administration from SMSU and is a doctoral candidate at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Jeffery Fulks, PhD, has been promoted to associate professor of social work and has been appointed chairman of the department of behavioral sciences at Evangel University. He has been an Evangel faculty member since 1994 and has bachelor's and master's degrees from Illinois State University, and a doctorate from the University of Texas-Arlington.
Matthew A. Taylor has joined the staff of Scott Consulting Engineers PC as a CADD technician. His responsibilities include working with the special projects department on civil/state storm drainage, transportation, subdivision, water, wastewater and structural engineering projects. He received drafting, design and graphic design training from SMSU.
Chris Bailey has joined Creative Healthcare Systems Inc. as a UNIX database installation/network support engineer. He is responsible for the design, implementation and support of network technologies.
Dorothy K. Knowles has been appointed executive director of Southwest Missouri Office on Aging, effective July 1. She has been employed by the agency for 27 years and is now serving as associate executive director.
Paul M. Olive, MD, orthopedic surgeon, has joined Ozarks Area Orthopedic Associates. His expertise is in spinal surgery and surgery involving scoliosis. He received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Tulane and the University of Louisville, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, in Kentucky.
Paul Sidio has gained affiliation with United Country Real Estate as a managing broker. Sidio is a member of the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors and Multiple Listing Service. He is the president of the state chapter of Realtors Land Institute and serves on four national institute committees.
Scott Bailes has accepted a position in the fleet sales department at Republic Ford. Bailes has owned several local businesses, including S & D Properties, Sports World and Baby Town. He spent 15 years playing professional baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Indians, California Angels and the Texas Rangers. At Republic Ford, Bailes will work with all aspects of fleet sales and service on local and national accounts.
Lee Crossland has been named manager of the Springfield area operations of Wood Brite Inc., a wood restoration and preservation company. As manager, he will be in charge of employee and customer relations.
Andy Stark has been named general manager of Signature Professional Cleaning, specializing in smoke and water restoration. He holds a degree from San Diego Carpet College and is a DuPont-approved inspector.
