Dr. Robert K. Glenn, former dean of students at Southwest Missouri State University, has been named vice president of student affairs at Middle Tennessee State University. Glenn replaces Dr. Robert LaLance Jr., who retired last December. He assumes his duties in mid-August.
Betty Lorton, a University of Missouri Outreach and Extension business and industry specialist, has transferred to Springfield from Sedalia. She is working out of the organization's Greene County center and serves the seven additional counties of Dallas, Polk, Barton, Newton, Jasper, Webster and Dade. She serves small businesses and people interested in self-employment with allied educational programs.
Evangel University has announced a number of promotions.
Mark Kelton, assistant professor of communication at Evangel University, has been granted tenure. He has been an Evangel faculty member since 1985. He has a bachelor's degree from Evangel and a master's degree from Regent University.
Michael McCorcle, PhD, associate professor of meteorology and director of undergraduate research at Evangel University, has been granted tenure. He has been a member of the faculty since 1996. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of California and received his master's degree and doctorate from the University of Utah.
Woodvall Moore is promoted to associate professor at Evangel University. He has been a faculty member since 1976. He has a bachelor's degree from Southern Bible College and a master's degree from the University of Kentucky.
Nathan Nelson, PhD, has been promoted to professor of English at Evangel University. He has been an Evangel faculty member since 1998. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, a master's degree from Northwestern University and earned a master's degree and his doctorate at Oklahoma State University.
Marilyn Quigley has been promoted to associate professor of English and has been granted tenure at Evangel University. She has been a faculty member since 1983 and has bachelor's and master's degrees from SMSU.
Michael Tenneson has been promoted to associate professor of biology at Evangel University. He has been a faculty member since 1987 and has a bachelor's degree from the University of California-Los Angeles, master's degrees from the University of North Dakota and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, and is a doctoral candidate at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Doran Coberly has joined Union Bank's southern Missouri branch in Ava as vice president and loan officer. Coberly has 18 years of experience in lending and 14 years of experience in banking. His responsibilities include managing an existing loan portfolio and business development, as well as focusing on all areas of lending.
Craig Dunn has been promoted to vice president and manager of the Pleasant Hope, Strafford and Fair Grove banking centers of Empire Bank. He is responsible for lending and daily operations. Dunn has a master's degree in administration from Southwest Baptist University.
Debbie Goodwin has joined Postal Federal Community Credit Union in Joplin as branch manager. Goodwin will assist members with loans, deposit accounts and scheduling appointments with the credit union financial planner, in addition to managing branch operations. [[In-content Ad]]
The former Kmart store on the grounds of the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium is slated for demolition, according to a permit on file with the city of Springfield.
