Slater, secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, for his participation and contribution to the Damage Prevention Quality Action Team Task Force.
Kevin C. Skibiski, PE, RLS, of Ozark, has been elected vice president of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. Installation ceremonies were held at MSPE's 62nd annual convention. Skibiski is director of engineering for Scott Consulting Engineers PC.
Amy Host Ruggeri, PE, was named the 1999 Young Engineer of the Year by the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. Ruggeri is senior engineer for water systems planning at City Utilities of Springfield.
Gareld L. "Borgie" Borgstadt, PE, was presented the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers' Extra Mile Resolution award June 25. The award is given to people making outstanding contributions to MSPE's objectives.
Nola Shivers, of Springfield's Decorating Den Interiors, has received the Ruby Van Award, a second year membership pin in the company's Century Society for achieving retail sales of $100,000 or more during 1998.
