Joseph W. Turner was recently promoted to president of Great Southern Bancorp. Inc. Turner, an attorney and CPA, joined the bank in 1991 and will serve as president and CEO. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.
Keith Mather, MD, has been added as a pediatrician at Cox's Northside Pediatrics and Adolescents. He graduated from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1993 and served his pediatric internship there. He completed a pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota. Mather was previously in practice at The Pediatric Center.
Stephen L. Meyer, MD, has joined the staff of St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin with a specialty in cardiovascular surgery. He is practicing in association with Heart Care and Surgical Associates Inc. He received a medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Mich. Meyer completed general surgery training and cardiothoracic surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine.
Heather D. Stelling, MD, has joined the staff of St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin with a specialty in anesthesiology. She is practicing in association with Anesthesia Professionals of Joplin. She received her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Stelling completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City St. Luke's Hospital.
Forest Institute of Professional Psychology has announced the addition of three people to its faculty:
Jennifer Baker has been hired at Forest Institute as a teacher in marriage and family therapy, and supervisor of psychologists in training. She received a master's degree in applied child and family studies from Northern Illinois University. Baker comes to the institute from private practice.
George D. Boone, PhD, has been hired as core faculty and director of the Reaching Out to Rural Ozarks program. He will teach in the areas of social psychology, personality theory and hypnotherapy. Boone received a doctoral degree in psychology from Kansas State University.
Karen Elena Lee, PsyD, comes to Forest Institute as core faculty. She will teach in neuropsychology. She received a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Forest Institute. Lee comes to the company after serving as a clinical psychologist in independent practice and staff positions.
Alicia Cary has been named office manager at Jenkins & Associates Ins-urance Consultants. She recently received a bachelor of arts degree in accounting and business administration.
Kathleen A. (Katie) McCros-key, CPCU, AAI, has joined the sales management team at Ollis & Company insurance agency. She is involved in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the sales management program at Ollis. McCroskey has more than 16 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Jennifer K. Huckfeldt recently became an associate at the law firm of Carnahan, Evans, Cantwell & Brown PC. She practiced law in Columbia previously and will continue her practice primarily in the areas of estate planning and administration. Huckfeldt received a juris doctorate degree in 1991 from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Springfield 33 KSPR-TV has recently expanded its staff in preparation for its new local news show, "Springfield 33 News at 6," which will begin airing Oct. 18.
Michelle Palmer has been hired as the show's producer. She comes to the station from KQTV in St. Joseph, where she was a director for the station's news shows. Palmer received a bachelor of science degree in broadcast communications from Arkansas State University and has nine years of experience in television broadcasting.
Dan Prater has been hired as news photographer and is responsible for shooting news footage and editing for all the station's news shows. He received a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism and has 17 years of experience in news photography.
