Evangel University recently added the following full-time faculty members:
Robert K. Burbee, associate professor of psychology, holds a PhD from the California School of Psychology.
The Rev. Kenneth Furguson has begun a term of service as Evangel's missionary-in-residence with Evangel's department of Biblical studies.
Arnold J. "Bud" Greve, professor of education, holds an EdD from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Gary C. Martindale, assistant professor of music, has a DMA in piano performance from the University of North Texas.
Nancy Pace-Miller, assistant professor of communications at Evangel, holds an MA in communication from SMSU.
Robert Paul, assistant professor of behavioral sciences, has an MS from Georgia State University.
Steve Shepherd, Evangel instructor of physical education, also serves as assistant coach for the Evangel Crusaders basketball team.
Cynthia Blackburn has joined The Bank as senior vice president of commercial loans. She has 22 years of banking experience, the most recent 12 years in commercial lending. Blackburn attended SMSU and has completed numerous banking and lending courses.
Scott Kotowicz has been promoted to personal banking representative with The Bank. His duties include working with customer accounts and assisting with the customer loan process. Kotowicz has been with The Bank since May 1998 and has four years of banking experience. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from SMSU.
Lisa M. McIntire joined Baird, Kurtz & Dobson, CPAs, as a staff consultant. She will assist with reimbursement and billing consulting for nursing facilities. McIntire is a 1992 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor of arts degree in accounting.
Springfield 33 KSPR-TV recently expanded its staff in preparation for its new local news show, "Springfield 33 News at 6," beginning Oct. 18
Rob Thompson has been promoted to assistant producer from news editor at Springfield 33. He is responsible for producing Springfield 33 News at 10, along with the managing editor.
Dan Smith and Tara Pollard have been hired as Springfield 33 production technicians. The two technicians are responsible for news support, preproduction and operating studio cameras. Smith and Pollard are students at SMSU working toward degrees in mass media production.
Justin Vance has been hired as news photographer at Springfield 33 and is responsible for shooting news footage and editing for all the station's news shows. He joins the station from KMEG-TV in Sioux City, Iowa, where he was commercial director. Vance received an associate of arts degree in electrical engineering from Western Iowa Technical College.
Dylan Witaker has been hired as news editor and tape operator at Springfield 33. He is responsible for editing news footage and rolling tapes for Springfield 33 News at 5 and 6 p.m.
Ann Underwood has been hired as local sales assistant and is responsible for assisting Springfield 33's local sales staff, producing reports and handling paid programming.
Republic Media Group has made some staff changes:
Brent Atterberry has been promoted to vice president of account services at Republic Media Group.
Kim Claybrook has been promoted to media buyer for all regional and national accounts at Republic Media.
Tammye Oldham has joined Republic Media Group as senior account manager. She formerly worked for Springfield 33 and has seven years of experience in local media and account development.
Bert Asher has been hired as manager of Between Friends, a gift shop to be located in the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell. He will be responsible for designing the floor plan, displays, cash wrap, storage and office space, as well as buying merchandise and setting up accounts. Previously, Asher oversaw the development of Cycle Recycle, a retail operation selling pre-owned and repaired bicycles and equipment.
