Accounting

Deanna J. Peltz has been promoted to vice president for CBIZ Healthcare Solutions Group of Mayer Hoffman McCann LC, an accounting firm. Peltz oversees the firm's Springfield office. Her duties will include assisting health care clients with mergers and acquisitions, integration strategies, strategic planning and business development activities. Peltz received a bachelor's degree in accounting from SMSU and has 20 years' experience in the health care industry and public accounting.

Bruce Spang-enberg has joined Heideman + Associates Inc. as a civil designer. Before Heideman, he was employed by Wilson Surveying Company Inc. Spangenberg received a two-year degree in applied arts and science from Jefferson College and has experience in drafting and design, surveying and construction estimating.

Equipment

Cris McClain has been named marketing and communications coordinator for the Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska locations of Barr-Thorp Electric Company, working out of the Springfield branch. She will focus on developing and implementing a strategic marketing and communications plan. McClain spent the past two years at Barr-Thorp as branch supervisor.

Paul Pettyjohn has been named data communications sales representative for the Springfield branch of Barr-Thorp Electric Company. His primary focus is data communication sales to the industrial network marketplace. Pettyjohn has 18 years of electrical experience, the past three years at Barr-Thorp.

Health Care

Lisa Alexander has been named director of development for Cox Health Systems. Alexander was previously director of Children's Miracle Network for Cox. As development director she will be responsible for all development and fund-raising activities for Cox Health Systems. Prior to joining Cox, she spent 10 years as a broadcast journalist. Alexander has a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Legal

Kendall R. McPhail has joined Lathrop & Gage LC as a member. He works in the firm's Springfield office, concentrating his practice in commercial litigation, and real estate litigation and consultation. McPhail has more than 15 years of experience in commercial litigation, and construction and real estate transactions. He was previously a member of Lowther, Johnson, Joyner, Lowther, Cully & Housley LLC.

Personnel

Valerie Earhart has been named general manager for Express Personnel of Springfield. She joined Express in 1999 and has worked as a staffing supervisor and sales executive for the firm. She is a graduate of Pittsburgh State University.

Telecommunications

Primary Network, an independent provider of telephone and Internet services, added the following personnel to its Springfield office staff: Jeff Ellis, vice president of sales; Brian Rohlena, corporate sales manager; Mike Saathoff, manager of network operations; Dianna Saathoff, office manager; and Susie Turner, senior corporate sales representative. The company is adding staff as it rolls out its new high-speed Internet access product, DSL Accelerator

Travel

Becky Lowrance has been promoted to senior tour manager at Great Southern Travel. Lowrance has eight years of experience in the travel and tour business and has been with Great Southern for three years.
