Cassandra McGinnis was promoted to director of e-commerce by Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance. Formerly manager of e-commerce, McGinnis was instrumental in redesigning the agency's Web site. She has been with MEM since 1996.

Postal Service

Jim Herrmann, manager of operations programs support for the Mid-America District, was named Springfield Post Office officer-in-charge following the retirement of Postmaster Robert W. Roberts. Herrmann is responsible for managing the collection and delivery of mail in Springfield and for the Springfield processing and distribution center. Herrmann joined the Postal Service in 1987; since 1992 he has served as manager, operations programs support. He holds a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Iowa.

Robert W. Roberts, Springfield postmaster, retired after more than 40 years of service to the United States Postal Service. He began his career in 1960 as a clerk in St. Louis and has since served in various positions in locations across the country. Prior to his appointment as Springfield's postmaster in 1996, Roberts served as Midwest area manager, sales, in St. Louis. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Strategic Marketing Management program.

John Weldy was promoted to corporate treasurer of MWM Dexter Inc., southwest Missouri's largest printing company. He has been with the company since 1979 and has served in numerous positions, most recently as vice president of finance, secretary and assistant treasurer. Weldy is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University.

Telecom

Dan Phee was named vice president and general manager of Alltel for Missouri. Working out of the Springfield office, he is responsible for managing and directing Alltel's communications operations in Springfield, Nixa, Branson, Monett, Bolivar, Lebanon, West Plains, Chillicothe and Kirksville. Phee has been the communications industry for 10 years, previously serving as vice president of finance for Alltel's Mid-Atlantic Region in Charlotte, N.C.
