Barry Bishop was named general manager for Alltel's local telephone operations in Missouri. Bishop holds a bachelor's degree in management and marketing from Union University in Jackson, Tenn. He has been with Alltel for 17 years. In his new position, Bishop is responsible for managing Alltel's local exchange carrier and competitive local exchange carrier markets. He is based in Springfield.

Education

Greg Williams, vice president of economic development for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, joined the adjunct faculty of Webster University's Ozarks Regional Campus. He will teach "Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital" for Webster University's evening master of business administration program.

Manufacturing

Aire-Master of America announced two management promotions and a staff addition.

Melissa Cook was promoted to sales manager of the com-pany's Missouri service division. She is responsible for establishing new business and supervising the Aire-Master sales staff. Her experience with the company includes five years as a sales representative. Deborah Johnson was promoted to quality control manager. In that position, she routinely evaluates customer service. She also builds relationships with Aire-Master customers and works with service representatives to maintain accounts. Johnson previously served the company as a service representative. Renee Vines, a certified public accountant, joined Aire-Master of America as accounting manager. Prior to joining the company, Vines operated her own accounting firm. In her new position, Vines supervises the company's accounting personnel.

Retail

Barbara Nelson was appointed marketing specialist for The Greek Corner. Nelson teaches communications at Southwest Missouri State University and has several years of experience in marketing and communication with customers, as well as developing and marketing communications programs for clients.
