Gary Rogers joined the adjunct faculty of Webster University's Ozarks Regional Campus. Rogers, president and owner of Business Brokers Unlimited, will teach entrepreneurial finance and venture capital for the master of business administration program.
Finance
Max Conroy joined Mid-Missouri Mortgage as vice president. Conroy, most recently in charge of real estate production for a bank and mortgage company in Grand Island, Neb., is responsible for the management and training of the Mid-Missouri production staff.
Health Care
Martee Robinson, PhD, joined Cox Health Systems as the new complementary and alternative medicine coordinator. Robinson is certified in speech and language pathology and has a PhD in education, in addition to extensive grant-writing experience. Complementary and alternative medicine includes the areas of herbal medicine, spirituality, visualization and massage therapy.
Awards and Achievements
Laurie Adams of Firstar Bank on West Battlefield was named among the top 10 percent of tellers within the company.
Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Television has received two Finalist Awards in the 2001 Telly Awards Competition. The winning shows were "Canada Black Bear with Larry Weishuhn" and "Bad Days and Missed Shots," along with "Bitsy Bug Smallmouth Bass with Kevin VannDam" and "Kennebec River Striped Bass with Stu Apte."
The Better Business Bureau presented its 2000 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics in two categories. City Utilities received the award for large business (50+ employees), with Aire Master of America Inc. as a finalist and Thompson Pontiac-GMC-Cadillac receiving an honorable mention. In the small business category (1-49 employees), MedTech Medical Management took first place, with T-N-T Tree Service Inc. as a finalist and honorable mentions going to Arnie's Plumbing and ETC Bridal.
Sheila G. Bucy, EdD, of American Republic Insurance, received the CLTC designation, confirming that she is certified in long-term care.
CableNet Advertising Services of Neosho was a double winner in the Joplin Area Advertising Federation Addy Awards. The agency received the Addy, the top award in television production, for a commercial produced for Bill Wynn Photography of Nevada titled "Master Craftsman." The company also received a Citation of Excellence for a commercial produced for Ozark Telephone and Electronics of Neosho titled "Outstanding."
Lynn Cole, the branch manager of E.A. Martin Co. in Harrison, Ark., achieved master's status in the Master's 2000 Program, a program sponsored by Caterpillar that recognizes excellence in product support among CatDealer parts and service sales representatives.
Corporate Business System of Springfield was named Dealer of the Year by Savin Inc., a world leader in office products.
Cheryl Doran of Pellham-Phillips-Hagerman Architects and Engineers passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Exam, the prerequisite for becoming a registered interior designer.
EFCO Corporation, a national manufacturer of Division 8 products, hosted a celebration to honor its top 100 customers during the National Glass Association Show in Miami.
Tom Hornbuckle of Two Men and a Truck was awarded the Triple Diamond Market Share Award for Moving Services and the Packing Sales Market Share Award for attaining market share in excess of 20 percent in both categories.
IKON Office Solutions received the Novell Inc. Service Excellence Award for its superior work in delivering support to Novell customers and commitment to selling and supporting Novell Net services software.
Dale Jackson, project manager for the Maiman Company, received the certification designation of certified door consultant.
Mary Jackson was named Member of the Year by the Republic Area Chamber of Commerce for outstanding service.
