Education

Evangel University announced the addition of the following full-time faculty members:

Stephen Badger, professor of science and technology, holds a PhD from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Bernie Dana, assistant professor of business, holds a master of arts degree from Loyola University and is a former member of the Evangel University Board of Directors.

Rev. Paul Duda, missionary in residence, holds a master of arts from Regent University. A missionary to Quito, Ecuador, for the past 12 years, Duda joins the Biblical studies department at Evangel University.

Colleen Hardy, assistant professor of education, holds a master of science degree from Drury University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in education administration at St. Louis University.

Anthony Robinson, assistant professor of physical education, holds a master of arts degree from Northwest Missouri State University. Robinson will serve as assistant football coach at Evangel University.

Matt Stringer, assistant professor of education, holds a master of arts degree from Southwest Missouri State University. Stringer is a former Nixa High School football coach and chemistry teacher. He also will serve as an assistant football coach at Evangel University.

Donna-Mae Washburn, assistant professor of social work, holds a master of social work degree from SMSU. She was formerly an adjunct professor in Evangel's behavioral sciences department.

Michael McCorcle has been named chairman of the department of science and technology at Evangel University. An associate professor of physics and meteorology, McCorcle joined Evangel in 1990. McCorcle holds a bachelor of science degree in atmospheric physics from the University of California-Davis, and he completed both a master's and a doctoral degree in meteorology at University of Utah.

Kent Thomas, vice president for administrative services at Southwest Missouri State University, was appointed acting chancellor at SMSU's West Plains campus. He will divide his time between the Springfield and West Plains campuses. A retired U.S. Army colonel, Thomas was named vice president for administrative services in August 1998.

Finance

James Pipkin Jr. was named branch manager of Great Southern Bank's new location at 1615 W. Sun-shine. Pipkin has extensive knowledge of the finance industry, and he supervises the bank's staff in its customer service and business development efforts.

Food Service

Brad Reece was promoted to director of operations for Papa John's Pizza in southwest Missouri and eastern Okla-homa. Reece has more than a decade of experience in the restaurant industry, and he has been with Papa John's Pizza for five years.

Health care

Boyd D. Crockett, MD, joined Cox Health Systems' Southwest Medicine and Rehabilitation. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Crockett is board-eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Michael W. Good, MD, joined Oak Tree Medical, a Cox Health Systems affiliate, Sept. 4. He earned his medical degree from Kansas University, and he completed the Wesley Family Practice Residency Program in Wichita, Kan. Good is board-certified in family practice and he has been in private practice since 1981.
