Engineering

Kevin C. Skibiski has joined Heideman + As-sociates, Inc. as a civil engineer and associate. Skibiski has 26 years of engineering experience, including expertise in the design of structures, streets, sanitary and storm sewers, topographic mapping, and construction in-spection, as well as the preparation of engineering estimates and specifications. Skibiski is president of the Missouri So-ciety of Professional Engineers, and he holds bachelor of science and a master of science degrees in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Health care

Ferrell-Duncan Clinic announced the addition of two physicians.

Joseph C. Apostol, MD, joined the clinic's cardiology division. He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and he completed an internal medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. While at Mayo Clinic, Apostol served as first chief medical resident. Apostol completed a cardiology fellowship at George-town University in Washington, D.C., and is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases.

Daniel Cardwell, MD, joined the clinic as a general surgeon. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas, and he completed his residency at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Insurance

Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance an-nounced that Dina Schultz has been named vice president of operations. Previously, she served MEM as director of corporate projects. In her new position, Schultz will lead MEM's newly formed department of operations, which is comprised of policyholder services, claims and information services.

Ollis & Company announced two staff additions.

Joe Erickson, CIC, joined the firm as vice president of sales and marketing. He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Ollis & Company, Erick-son worked for CNA Insurance Com-pany, where he held several executive positions, including branch president.

Susan Holt joined the firm as a commercial lines marketer. She holds a degree in business management from Drake Un-iversity in Des Moines, Iowa, and she has more than 15 years of experience in insurance marketing and management.

Law

Lee E. Poppen was named a member of the law firm Lathrop & Gage, and he will work from the firm's Springfield office. Poppen has 27 years of experience, practicing in the areas of bankruptcy, family law and general litigation. Prior to joining Lathrop & Gage, Poppen served as the Wright County attorney in Iowa for 21 years. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa, and he earned his law degree from the University of South Dakota.

Restaurant

Charles O. Ozarz was promoted to president and chief operations officer of Wendy's of Mis-souri Inc. For the last seven years, Ozarz has been responsible for the establishment and implementation of operational plans, new store development and execution of major renovations and remodeling for Wendy's of Missouri Inc., which has 22 locations. Prior to joining Wendy's of Missouri Inc., Ozarz spent 16 years with Wendy's International Inc.
