Mary Mannix has been appointed assistant director of finance for the city of Springfield. Her new position is effective May 6. She has worked with the city since 1999 as budget administrator. Before that she was budget officer for Greene County. Mannix also will serve as acting director of finance for up to 24 months while Fred Fantauzzi oversees the implementation of a new accounting and payroll system. Mannix is an economics graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She has public and private sector experience in budgetary responsibility, financial policy development and cost-effective analysis. |ret||ret||tab|

Southwest Baptist University an-nounced the appointment of Dr. Gary Gray and Dr. Linda Wooderson as deans. Both faculty positions will become effective July 1. Gray will become dean of the College of Science and Mathematics. He was previously named acting dean for the 2001-2002 academic year. Gray has been a member of the chemistry faculty since 1989. He holds a bachelor's degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, and a doctorate from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. |ret||ret||tab|

Wooderson will become dean of the Lewis E. Schollian College of Education and Social Sciences. She has been an SBU faculty member since 1989 and has served as the chair of the department of health, physical education and recreation since 2000. J. Kevin Richter, MD, has joined the staff at St. John's Branson MediQuick. He previously practiced at St. John's Green Forest Medical Center in Green Forest, Ark. He is board certified in family practice. |ret||ret||tab|

Jennifer Buehler was promoted to vice president of finance for the hospital. Her new duties will include oversight of financial operations. Buehler has worked for the hospital since 1996, most recently as director of internal auditing. She has a bachelor of science degree in accountancy from SMSU and is a certified public accountant. |ret||ret||tab|

Vicky Owens has joined St. John's Ava Medical Center as a family nurse practitioner. She has worked for St. John's since 2000, most recently as a nurse practitioner for the Nutrition Center at St. John's.|ret||ret||tab|

Amy Cutshall has joined the hospital as a creative services specialist in its community relations department. Her duties will include graphic design and layout of the hospital's marketing and communication material. Cutshall has a bachelor of science degree in communication from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. |ret||ret||tab|

Gregg Ford, MD, has been appointed to the St. John's Physicians and Clinic's board of directors and was elected to serve at its surgical services department chairman. Ford is a pediatric surgeon for St. John's Fremont General and Pediatric Surgery.|ret||ret||tab|

Kenneth Larson, MD, has been appointed chairman of the general surgery section at the hospital. He also serves as director of the hospital's burn unit. |ret||ret||tab|

Jennifer Wilson has accepted the position of live radio host with KTXR-FM. She formerly worked on stage at Jennifer's Americana Theatre in Branson. Wilson previously co-hosted a morning show segment for two weeks in January at the radio station. She has been inducted into the All-American Music Awards Hall of Fame and has been named Female Vocalist of the year several times. [[In-content Ad]]
