Benny Nale was promoted to controller for Killian Construction Co. Nale has worked at the company's Springfield headquarters for more than two years. Prior to that, he worked for 10 years as plant accountant and controller at Stone Container Corp., which is now Smurfit-Stone.
In his new position, Nale prepares financials and cost reports, and supervises accounting functions.
Education
Vatterott College announced three staff additions at its Springfield campus.
Elizabeth Shaver joined the school as a financial aid administrator. She holds certifications from National Default Prevention. Her job duties include assisting students with financial aid issues, application processing, default management and exit counseling.
Rodney Kesselring joined Vatterott as a computer programming instructor. Kesselring holds a bachelor's degree from Baptist Bible College and a master's degree from BBC Graduate School. He is certified in HTML. In his new position, he instructs students in theory and in lab computer programming courses.
Cathy Outhouse joined the school as a medical office assistant instructor. She has more than 14 years of experience in the health-care industry, including time spent as a U.S. Navy corpsman and a preventative-medicine technician. In her new position, she instructs students enrolled in the medical office assistant program on topics that include medical language, anatomy, transcription and medical office procedures.
Finance
Heather Medley was promoted to loan officer at City Utilities Employees Credit Union. She has 14 years of experience with financial institutions.
Kirkpatrick, Phillips & Miller CPAs PC announced that Sean M. Balisle and Gregory W. Ramsey, CPAs, were promoted from managers to shareholders with the firm. Balisle has 14 years of experience in public accounting with specialization in the areas of accounting, auditing, taxation and business consulting. Ramsey has more than 15 years of experience in providing planning and consulting for employee benefit plans, bankruptcy, taxation and business consulting. As shareholders, Balisle's and Ramsey's responsibilities include an increase in overall firm management duties, as well as continuing to serve the firms clients, prospecting and training staff accountants.
Health care
Orthopedic surgeon J. Marcus Heim, DO, joined the medical staff of Skaggs Community Health Center. Heim earned his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma City University and his medical degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He specializes in joint-replacement surgery, sports medicine, adult/pediatric trauma and hand/foot surgery.
Insurance
Kellie Sansom joined Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance as a commercial lines account manager. She has nine years of experience in the insurance field and is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University.
Interior design
Crystal R. Calvird joined A. Deckard Interiors LLC as a residential designer. With the addition of Calvird's skills, the company offers a full range of commercial and residential design.
