Gov. Bob Holden appointed eight individuals to the Citizens' Advisory Commission for Marketing Missouri Agricultural Products, including three people from the Springfield area. Appointed were Ed Hewlett, Springfield; Joann K. Pipkin, Republic; and John Morrison, Fremont Hills. Hewlett recently retired as director of meat merchandising for Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc. Pipkin is a freelance writer and co-owner of Clearwater Farm, a purebred Angus operation. Michael Homeyer joined the bank as a senior vice president, responsible for business development and portfolio management. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics from Drury University and a master's of business administration from St. Louis University. Robert McGlasson was named vice president for information and technology services at Southwest Baptist University. He previously served as SBU's director of instructional technology, and he has been employed with SBU since 1990. McGlasson earned a doctor of education degree in instructional technology and distance education in 2001 from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in communications from Southwest Missouri State University and a master's degree in library and informational science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. |ret||ret||tab|

Steve Graddy was named CFO, joining Freeman's senior executive staff. He has been with Freeman since 1988, when he joined the system as controller. Prior to becoming CFO, Graddy acted as vice president of financial operations. |ret||ret||tab|

Charles Bentlage, MD, assumed the position of chief medical officer. He previously served as medical director, a position he held since 1997. A Joplin surgeon since 1970, Bentlage was one of the first physicians to join the Freeman Physician Group as an employed physician. |ret||ret||tab|
