A special Springfield City Council meeting has been scheduled Wednesday for the Police-Fire Pension Fund Citizens' Task Force to make a presentation on its work to date.
The joint meeting will be at 6 p.m. in City Council chambers at Historic City Hall. It is open to the public, but it is not a public hearing, according to a city news release.
The task force will give details about its findings since it forming in April and will present its draft recommendations regarding the pension fund shortfall. The group held two town-hall-style meetings in July to gather public input.
Today's meeting will air live on the city's government access channel on Mediacom 80 or 15.1 and on the city's Web site at the link below. It will re-air on Mediacom at 9 p.m. Aug. 7, 11 a.m. Aug. 8, and 2:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Aug. 9.
Council is expected to consider a resolution to receive the task force's report at its Aug. 10 meeting. A public hearing will take place at that time to give citizens the chance to speak about the resolution.[[In-content Ad]]
