Springfield-based Penmac Staffing Services Inc. has opened its 28th branch in Mount Vernon.
Norma Person, who has worked with Penmac for more than six years and manages the company's Monett branch, has been tapped to run the new office as well, according to a May 14 news release from the company.
Person said the branch is a limited-hour office, open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday and Thursday.
"As our business opportunities grow in Mount Vernon, we will increase our hours of operation to a full-time schedule," she added in the release.
Penmac provides temporary and permanent staffing services for a variety of industries, including manufacturing, clerical, transportation, medical, technical and human resources. The company, which was founded in 1988, operates 29 branches in Missouri, Arkansas, Georgia, Kansas, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia, the release said.
Penmac ranked fourth in Springfield Business Journal's 2012 Dynamic Dozen, reporting 2009-11 revenue growth of 60 percent with estimated 2011 revenues of $89.5 million.
