Penmac opens 28th branch in North Carolina

Posted online
Springfield-based Penmac Staffing Services Inc. entered the North Carolina market with the March 12 opening of its 28th branch in Raleigh.

Tiffany Haney, Penmac public relations and communications specialist, said the office was opened to better serve Baldor Electric Co., a client that contracted Penmac to recruit employees for them nationwide.

Haney said branch manager Gina Macaluso, who has been a resident of the area for 17 years, would be leading efforts to recruit more clients in the area.

“We opened the Raleigh branch to serve one of our current clients in the area, but are always pursuing new business opportunities. We are also dedicated to helping job seekers find employment,” Penmac President Paula Adams said in a news release.

Penmac, which was founded in 1988 by Adams' mother, Patti Penny, provides permanent and temporary staffing services for industries including manufacturing, clerical, transportation, medical and technology. The company's 28 branches operate in Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Virginia, California, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Wisconsin.

The company, which ranked No. 4 in Springfield Business Journal 2012 Dynamic Dozen, reported 2009-11 revenue growth of 60 percent with estimated 2011 revenues of $89.5 million.
